Practice Sponsors The Brackley Players
Each year the Partners at Brackley Health Centre choose a local good cause to support. This year the practice is sponsoring the Brackley Players in memory of Dr John Bourdillon who was a well loved member of the Brackley Players before his retirement in 1993.

Flu vaccinations Autumn 2009
Swine Flu
We are hoping to start vaccinating patients against the H1N1 virus during week commencing 9th November 2009. If you fall into clinical risk group (a) as below please telephone the surgery on 01280 703460 after Monday 2nd November to book your appointment. Pregnant women (b): please speak to your midwife about vaccination. Further sessions for patients who fall into (c) and (d) will be arranged later in November. Please contact the surgery for updates.
The clinical risk groups, in order of priority are:
a. Individuals aged six months and up to 65 years in the current seasonal flu vaccine clinical at risk groups
b. Pregnant women
c. Household contacts of immuno-compromised individuals
d. People aged 65 and over in the current seasonal flu vaccine clinical at risk groups
Seasonal Flu
Our flu vaccination clinics are taking place daily at Brackley Health Centre during week commencing 19th October 2009 and one session is being held at Kings Sutton on Wednesday 21st October 11-12noon.
If you are over 65, suffer from diabetes or immuno-suppresion; have a heart, kidney or liver condition; asthma or lung problems please telephone the surgery to make your appointment.

Congratulations to
Andrea Heavisides, our diabetes and
practice nurse, who has passed her
Nurse Prescribing Course at
Northampton University. She is now
also working part time as diabetic
liaison nurse for Milton Keynes PCT
in addition to her work in the
practice.
April 2009
Information Management and
Technology
The PCT has awarded us a high rating
for the quality of patient data on
our IT systems, and so has granted
us Full Accreditation for the next
three years.
November 2008
At a
selection event held last month, the
Core Development Group and GP
practices selected Brackley Primary
Health Care Property with the Order
of St John Care Trust as the
preferred partner to develop a full
business case in conjunction with
the Core Group to procure a new
Primary Care Centre for Brackley.
Northamptonshire NHS has been
supportive throughout the process.
Brackley
Primary Health Care Property
(Brackley Investments) is a local
company that has been involved in 83
surgery developments around the
country. The Order of St John Care
Trust runs residential, nursing and
intermediate care facilities. Both
organisations have been involved in
a similar integrated facility in
Malmesbury in Wiltshire, and the Order
of St John will run the planned new
hospital in Chipping Norton.
